Disability in CALD Communities
The focus on disability issues in CALD communities has been growing and with it the range of relevant cultural and social considerations are receiving more attention. this has included a more significant evidence base to both enumerate the level of disability in CALD communities as well as well as understanding how it exists and is supported by individual CALD communities.
There are both strengths and barriers existing in CALD communities with regards to acknowledging and responding to disability issues, the barriers may hinder understanding of disability services and the NDIS and accessing these supports.
